Frequently Asked Questions and Policy Information
-
What are your Inclusion & Participation Policies? Our classes are inclusive of all types of families and caregivers. We are an all-abilities community, and offer additional accommodations or supports for children with disabilities. Every child must have an adult present to participate in class. We guarantee one adult can actively participate in each class, and a second is welcome to stay and observe or play, space permitting. Siblings are always welcome to stay and observe when accompanied by a non-participating adult. We offer free preview classes before each session to let families "test" the levels and see if classes are a good fit for them. We hope you'll give us a try!

What is a typical class like?Open/Close: Classes begin and end organically, with time for children to choose activities in a prepared environment and for caregivers to connect with one another before joining the structured class. Circle: The guide will invite the group to join and play together, and then lead the group in singing our welcome songs and greeting one another. Floorplay & Activities: A sequence of yoga-based movements, games, songs, and play with props and toys will support families as they nurture the development of motor, language and social skills. Dance Party: No class would be complete without a dance party! Back in the circle, we’ll shake, move and groove to the beat, where there’ll be plenty of bubbles and a parachute (of course!) Mindful Minutes: As we come to the end of class, we take time for relaxation, deep breaths and grounding exercises. Caregivers learn to bring their full attention to the moment and grow aware of their thoughts and feelings as we share hugs, laughter and comforting touch with our children.

How does the program work? Is each class different? Is there a curriculum? Our classes meet weekly for 10 weeks. This Fall, classes will start the week of September 12th, 2022 and run through mid-November. Our classes build week to week throughout each 10-week term, are tailored to the children and families within each cohort, and no two will ever be exactly the same! Our curriculum nurtures age-based play using scientific principles of human development, is influenced by the work of Dr Maria Montessori, and integrates practices of mindfulness and wellbeing.
-
What is the cost? Is there a registration fee?The ten-week session costs $250. There is a $25 discount for additional siblings. Use code EARLYBIRD before Labor Day to get an additional $25 off your registration total. The price of our 10-week program is inclusive of all fees.
-
When will you charge my card?Payment will be charged in full when you register for the 10-week term.
-
Can I cancel? Do you offer refunds? We do not pro-rate sessions or refund portions of the term once classes begin. If you register and choose to cancel prior to the first class , we will refund your tuition minus a $50 fee.
-
Is there an option to change my class location, day or time?We are happy to accommodate changes on an as-available basis. You can email us at info@bewellbabytx.com to request a different schedule.
-
Is there an option for make up classes?Yes! We know life with kids can be unpredictable. We offer one free makeup class the two weeks after the end of each ten-week session. That means this fall, makeups will be held the week of November 28th and December 5th, 2022. Email us @ info@bewellbabytx.com to schedule.
-
Can I drop my child off? Can we switch off who comes each class? Can a babysitter or older sibling come in my place? An adult caregiver must stay for class; there are no drop-offs for our programs. We welcome parents, grandparents, babysitters, au pairs, aunts and uncles, and do not require the same adult to accompany the child for each class. Older siblings between 14-18 years of age may participate with advance permission from the guide. Email to arrange at info@bewellbabytx.com.
-
Do I need prior yoga experience? What should I wear? Do I need a yoga mat?No prior experience in yoga is required. We recommend comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You will need a yoga mat or a beach towel, though we will always have a few available to borrow if you forget!
-
Do you offer partial registration after the term begins? If spaces are available after the start of classes, we will offer pro-rated registration for remaining spots.
-
What if I'm unsure about committing to the entire series?A common hesitation to signing up for a weekly class is that parents aren’t sure it will be the right fit for their child or for them. We get that. That’s why we offer preview classes and community-based events! Watch our website for upcoming free trial classes and on-site sign ups the week before classes begin.
-
What happens if there is inclement weather? In cases of bad weather, we'll either let families know of an alternate location or reschedule a makeup for the group.
-
What should I bring to class? We recommend: Comfortable, layered clothing that allows freedom of movement. Safe shoes for children over 1 that won't cause slips and falls. A yoga mat or beach towel for you and your child to sit on together. Water bottles. Sunscreen and hats.
-
What kinds of facilities are available at your outdoor locations? All of our sites have shade and are located next to beautiful playscapes. Most of our locations have public restrooms, nearby picnic tables, trash cans, and parking lots. Several have coffee shops open to the public, too. However, we recommend making the same plans as you would when visiting any other park or playground- and being prepared in the event that access is unavailable on a given day or time.
